In 1958 he held his first solo exhibition, presenting works including humorous and powerful animal motifs. The exhibition was well received and brought a fresh perspective to the Finnish ceramics scene of the time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1959 he left Arabia to support his family and continued his design activities while teaching at several schools. In 1963 he joined Nuutajärvi as a glass designer, where he worked for many decades until 2019.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom serial products to unique pieces, Toikka brought rich narratives and free imagination to the medium of glass.
