CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

Our store issues a certificate of authenticity for works by ERIK HÖGLUND. This certificate guarantees a full refund if the purchased work is later found to be incorrect. Our stance on this, including for other products, remains unchanged.

Erik Höglund is a designer I personally admire, and our store has focused on handling his works since its opening. Having observed many of his pieces in the market, we have reached a point where we can no longer overlook certain issues, and thus, we are issuing this warning. It has come to our attention that a significant number of items sold as Erik Höglund's work are, in fact, not. This situation is prevalent even in shops, dealers, and auction houses in Sweden, not to mention other regions. This problem likely stems from Erik Höglund still being a designer whose evaluation is not yet established, with limited research and no detailed books or catalogs compiling product data currently available. Additionally, there is a vast number of his works, including irregular pieces, and many pieces lack signatures.

Works that are incorrect generally fall into the following categories:

  1. Obvious fakes
  2. Similar items by other manufacturers or artists that coincidentally resemble his work
  3. Works by other designers from BODA Glassworks
  4. Items where only a part is different

His works include various items such as ashtrays, glass vessels with air bubbles, human-shaped decanters, ornaments, candle holders, and chandeliers. While we may not have historical documentation or evidence for every item we believe to be incorrect, our store uses its accumulated experience and scrutinizes various materials and information to introduce only verified items. We hope you can enjoy shopping with peace of mind.

To spread awareness of this situation, we have decided to issue a certificate of authenticity.
