RELEPHANT

ELEPHANT is a specialty store for arts and crafts and design products from Nordic countries, including Finland and Sweden.
We primarily handle vintage items from the 1930s onwards, which was the dawn of modernism in the Nordic region.

The primary premise for selecting products is that I like them. From those, the selection reflects designers and manufacturers related to the Nordic region, the context and background of the items, knowledge cultivated through past experiences, and my own trends at the time.

During sourcing, even if there was something that caught my eye instinctively, I've had to pass on items I couldn't identify due to lack of knowledge, or those for which I couldn't provide evidence.
I've always believed this is important, given that we operate as a specialty store.

However, I've had a vague feeling that I was becoming too analytical and neglecting my own intuition. I've long pondered how to resolve this frustration.

The answer I arrived at is "RELEPHANT," under a different name.

"RELEPHANT" is a genre-less project outside of ELEPHANT's field, and it will feature selections that place importance on my intuition when I am facing an object. It is mainlyscheduled to operate irregularly at external events.
