Lisa Johansson-Pape designed lighting for Iittala for many years starting in 1948, and in 1963, she unveiled her first glassware series, a collection of vases named after flowers: "VIOLA," "ANEMONE," "ACHILLEA," and "CHRYSANTHEMUM."
These were the only glassware pieces she ever designed for Iittala and were produced for just three years, from 1963 to 1965.
This is "CHRYSANTHEMUM," the largest and only standalone piece in the series, featuring a conical protrusion at the base.
It has a cut signature.

Lisa Johansson-Pape was a Finnish female designer who was active in various fields such as furniture, textiles, and lighting.
She was also a co-founder of the Lighting Technology Association and served for many years as director of the Friends of Finnish Handicraft, where she promoted and researched crafts.
She had a particularly deep relationship with textile artist and designer Dora Jung. They held joint exhibitions, she organized Jung's domestic and international exhibitions, and after Jung's death, she organized her archives, supporting her friend's career.
She began her career as a furniture designer in 1927, joined the design department at Stockmann in 1937, and started designing her most famous lighting fixtures at Orno, a subsidiary of Stockmann, in 1942.
She began collaborating with IITTALA in 1948, and the lighting fixtures she presented in 1954 won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale that same year.
